In 2020 the world was shaken to its very core due to the corona virus. So serious was the pandemic, it nearly stopped the Fantasy F1 game (I joke of course) but I have decided to have a radical rethink on the scoring system. With 3 major changes. There is supposed to be 23 races, but as we only have 20 drivers, the numbers do not work out. So, the changes are as follows: -

1. Each player must select 4 NON scoring races during the season, and there will be an option on the entry form to select the “BYE” these will attract no scoring points and NO penalties. If no entry is received, this will be treated as a BYE, if all 4 Byes’ have been used it will count as automatic DSQ. Cancelled races will not be treated as one of your BYE’s these will be shown as "VOID".

2. Exceptions, the first and last race of the season cannot be used as a bye, as I use the first race data, as indication that you are playing and then build your page accordingly. If no entry is received for the first race then it assumed you do not wish to participate. For the 2024 season.

3. If a driver swaps teams, after the first race. e.g., Russel & Hamilton 2020, the seat is still technically Hamilton’s, and will be treated as such or if a driver is substituted due to illness.

NEW SCORING SYSTEM

4. I will revert back to the old scoring system where every point your selections scores goes to your race grand total, this is made up of, the position they qualified in, position they finished, plus laps completed. E.g. below:

5. The joker will make a return. You can select one race where you play your Joker, and your points tally will be doubled, but be careful the laps difference will be doubled too.

6. You can only select a driver twice over the course of the season, and a team can only be selected 4 times

PENALTIES

6. The difference between the numbers of laps selected, and the actual laps for the race will be deducted from your score, it does not matter if you are + or – the difference will be taken off your grand total.

7. IF you make a miss pick and try to use a driver more than twice, or a team more than 4 times you will be deducted 100 points.
